"Judgement of whatever's happening right here and now usually doesn't help and just makes us lose our energy. The only question is: where do we want to go from here?"

"An effect of meditation well-known since the sixties is the one of slowing down and harmonizing our brain waves. EEG (electroencephalogram) measurements on meditators also show increased activity in the so-called theta band even during a person's waking states. Theta waves normally occur only during sleep or dozing. Scientists assume this finding indicates an increased ability to perceive internal processes in the waking state."
From "Basics of Meditation"
"Our thinking mind consciousness usually seems to be quite under-challenged, as our thoughts remain relatively unfocused and flood us with not necessarily helpful chains of associations. This means that a huge potential for accessing our full intellectual capacity is lost through this "wandering mind"-effect."
